I thought about me going to the US one day but i never thought it would come a bit early when i change my project. I was waiting for a chance but had some concerns to stay for one more month, which i did. Then got the visa as simply i couldnt even imagine.
About my trip, i was about to board our national airline(name not be mentoined, think u'll know when u read this post) where i had to wait for 2 hours in the airport bcoz of the delay of the flight. And i met person who was of my flight and coming to same city where i am going for CHICAGO. He was telugu guy, so i was comfortable speaking to him in my own language. And bcoz of me leaving hyderabad there was a huge rainfall on that day, first time in hyd i have seen live with my own eyes ? cars were floating on road, my cab driver was intelligent and took me to the airport ontime. Atlast we had to board the flight and went to mumbai, had to board the international flight. Finally into a boeing (even this is first time in my life) but not so clean but looks like an international flight, lots of indians and foriegners too.
And the flight was 15mins delayed bcoz of us, who were coming from Hyd. And sat with the telugu guy, we shared our exp.. he was about to do his PhD in the US, so had a chat about US and the place we gonna live blah blah. Finally the flight started to leave Mumbai , heading to Frankfurt where we had a stop, the food was good as the breakfast was in indian style.
saw the hindi movies they played in the big screen in the plane, didnt got a chance to look out bcoz mine was a aisle seat and even the windows were closed. i didnt know when slept but had a sound sleep, and my co passenger woke me up for the food and we had something which was in indian style too.
I heard a lot specials about the frankfurt airport form my frnd, but it was really good, at the time of landing and take off, bcoz i didnt had time to see the airport bcoz we had t stay in a hall where we are not even allowed to call outside unless u have a calling card or international credit card.*
suddenly i thought of calling my home and my beloved ones, since i have a credit card which is VISA and valid internationaly, went to try that out but, didnt know the operation and came back not to try it and fail, to let me credi card there. But, looking at me some the guyz came there and tried with their VISA cards which worked. Later, i thought i would try it , my turn came i inserted the card and try to dial the number, but the machine was responding , after some trials, tried to remove the card, (:() which got stuck in the machine, i tried for sometimes, later my frnd who was travelling with me took the risk, and co-passengers tried, i had to call the airport staff who did know the operation to repair or open the machine, they said need to call the service provider for that, they didnt had any tool though (like cutting plier or plucker) one of my co-passenger tried with his hands who was basically a mallu, who saidhe would give try , thank god it worked and the time is up. we had to board the plane again, the food they served aftr frankfurt worse than ever in my life.. i dont i have took an indian dish, eventhough it didn had the exact ingredients...
And took another nap and finally arrived 30mins short of my destination.believe if you travelling first time in an international flight, try to get a window seat ... the captain was annoucing to watch the chicago DOWNTOWN... window is three seat away from me but i tried to look at the window which is not possible and i tried even to getup and lookat the window which is in the emergency exit place, which was not possible bcoz we had buckle up our seat belts...
OOOOffff... this was my expression when i am standing at a long long immigration queue , which took morethan an hour.... my security check was pretty cool as i said i dont have valueables and eatables with me ....and came out with my luggauge.. looking for a long guy about 6' 3'' of height and beside him should be a thin guy who was my manager(....) i could see a man looking for someone with a black cap on his head and wearing a short suddenly i thought he is the man i have already i met in INDIA, my onsite co-ordinator.. but didnt dare to call him or go towards him.. as everybody in the airport are in the same attire.. i said Bye to my co-passenger... whose name was not disclosed earlier(Shashikanth, with whom it was gr8 travelling).. And that tall guy saw me and shouted...my name .. . .Deepak ... Deepak ...Oh god .. so he is the man i have met .... so he would take me to the destination..a thin guy as expected ... came to me and said i i'm so and so in a polite way... and started talking in a jovial way.. i didnt expect a manager to be like that.. but he is..and adivised me to take a half day of rest which i couldnt do.. i had to take my bath... and took my calling card which was purchased on the way to my hotel... and my manager suggested me to take the card.. so that i can call home.... the hotel room was gr8 ... really...gr8 ... watched TV that was Olympics time... and ordered a pizza for the night and had it .. slept at 9 O clock ........................
That was my first international flight experience .. which i thought would be really gr8,, but was a series of incidents for me ........
